Active Tag
Our Active Tag dairy cow monitoring system provides continuous tracking of animal activity and behavior to support proactive herd management. Collected data is analyzed to detect heat, monitor health status and identify changes in behavior patterns. Automated alerts provide timely information for management decisions. Monitoring both individual and group activity, the system provides a clear overview of herd dynamics and daily farm operations.
Walk Over Weighing (WOW)
Tru-Test Walk Over Weighing (WOW) systems automatically record individual animal weights as they move through their normal daily routines. Installed in key animal flow points, the platform captures weights as animals walk over it and associates the data with electronic identification. Weight records are transmitted directly to Datamars Livestock software for analysis and reporting. Continuous weight monitoring helps farmers track performance trends and support more informed herd management decisions.
Dairy Drafter
Tru-Test Dairy Drafter systems automatically sort individual cows as they exit the milking parlor during normal routines. Installed in the exit lane, the system identifies animals using electronic identification or Tru-Test Active Tag and directs them to the appropriate group. Sorting lists can be created in advance and managed through Datamars Livestock software. Automated drafting helps ensure the right animals are separated for reproduction management, health checks or group changes.
Fence Monitoring
Tru-Test Fence Monitoring systems continuously measure voltage across different sections of an electric fence line. Solar-powered nodes installed along the fence record voltage levels and transmit the data to a Farm Gateway. Information is then sent to the Datamars PRO app, providing real-time visibility of fence performance. Automated alerts help farmers detect voltage drops quickly and respond faster to potential faults.

Curious About Smart Farming Technologies?
Here’s a simple introduction to how monitoring, automation and connected technologies help farmers manage animals, track performance and respond quickly to changes on the farm.
Active Tag monitoring solutions are specifically designed for dairy cows. The system analyzes behavioral patterns such as activity and group movement to support heat detection and health monitoring in dairy operations. Its design and algorithms are optimized for the routines and management needs of modern dairy farms.
Active Tag analyzes multiple behavioral indicators to provide accurate monitoring of dairy cows. These include activity patterns, rumination, feeding behavior, resting patterns, as well as lying and standing time. Monitoring these parameters together provides a more complete picture of animal condition and improves the accuracy of heat and health alerts.
Yes. Active Tag devices are available as both ear tags and collars, and the two options can be used together within the same herd. This flexibility allows farms to adapt the monitoring system to different management practices and installation preferences while keeping all data within the same platform.
Walk Over Weighing systems collect weight information automatically as animals pass through regular movement points on the farm. Because weights are recorded frequently and without additional handling, farmers can follow weight trends over time and better evaluate feeding strategies, production performance and animal condition.
Walk Over Weighing systems are typically installed in locations where animals already move as part of their daily routines. In dairy farms this often means the exit lane from the milking parlor or other controlled animal flow points. This allows weight data to be collected regularly without creating additional handling steps for the herd.
Dairy Drafter systems can identify cows using electronic identification or Tru-Test Active Tag combined with the ID My Cow system. This technology improves identification reliability even in environments where traditional RFID readings can be affected by interference. As a result, cows can be sorted accurately for reproduction management, health checks or group changes.
Yes. The system is designed to integrate into a wide range of parlor layouts, including rotary, herringbone and rapid exit systems. By sorting cows as they leave the parlor, the system fits naturally into existing milking routines without disrupting herd flow.
ID My Cow is a patented identification technology used in Tru-Test Dairy Drafter systems to reliably identify cows as they move through the sorting gate. The system reads the ID from cows wearing an Active Tag and ensures accurate identification during automated drafting. It is designed to operate reliably in dairy environments where traditional electronic identification can be affected by electromagnetic interference.
Fence Monitoring systems continuously measure voltage across different sections of the fence line rather than simply triggering an alarm when a fault occurs. This allows farmers to monitor fence performance trends over time and identify the location of potential issues more quickly, reducing the time needed to locate and repair faults.
Fence Monitoring nodes are typically installed at key points along the fence line where voltage performance needs to be monitored. Positioning nodes across different sections of the fence allows farmers to identify where voltage drops occur and quickly locate potential faults. Additional nodes can be added to extend monitoring coverage across larger areas of the farm.
